Thanks to the initiative and funding of the charity foundation "Orphans’ Future," 29 orphans from state care institutions in the Ternopil region had the opportunity to relax and recuperate outside their institutions in July.

With donations starting from 500 hryvnias, generous supporters helped raise 197,700 UAH, enabling the children to enjoy a 19 to 21-day summer break—a chance to experience new adventures beyond the walls of the orphanage where they live year-round.

"For these children, this trip is not just fun—it’s a chance to see the world, feel cared for, and receive support,” emphasized Andriy Nazarenko, the foundation’s chairman.

The Orphans Future raises money for summer camps outside orphanages to address several key issues:

1. Social Isolation

Children in orphanages often live in a closed, routine environment. Time spent outside the institution broadens their horizons, provides new experiences, and allows them to interact with other kids.

2. Emotional Recovery

Activities like nature trips, excursions, workshops, and other events help reduce stress, restore the joy of childhood, and boost self-confidence.

3. Independent Living Skills

During these trips, children learn to adapt to new environments, work in teams, and manage their time—essential skills for future integration into society.

4. Motivation for Learning and Growth

New experiences often inspire children to set goals, believe in their potential, and strive for a better future.

5. Attention and Support

Orphans often lack individual attention. Camp volunteers and organizers frequently become mentors and older friends to them.

Thus, summer camp is not just entertainment—it’s an investment in socialization, mental well-being, and the future of children raised outside a family.
