Two-Day Retreat for Foster Parents

On October 17–18, 2025, a two-day retreat for 12 foster parents took place at the Ternopil Hotel. Together, these families are raising about 90 orphaned children. The event was organized by the charitable foundation “Orphans Future” and made possible through voluntary donations from caring supporters.

These gatherings have already become a meaningful tradition, held monthly to support those who give children daily doses of family warmth, care, and love.

In a cozy and comfortable setting, with full three meals a day, participants had the opportunity to recharge, connect with one another, take part in a psychological training session, and share their personal experiences and challenges.

A special highlight of the retreat was a meeting with Volodymyr Vasylenko, Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional Administration. During the conversation, foster parents openly discussed the difficulties and needs of families raising orphaned children. Mr. Vasylenko emphasized that the government will continue working to ensure high-quality social services for foster parents and children in local communities, providing necessary support and promoting family-based care throughout the Ternopil region.

A particularly touching moment was when graduates of residential institutions joined the group, sharing their experiences of life in care and reflecting on whether they ever had a chance to grow up in a family. Such moments bring hope and remind everyone that family is where someone waits for you.

An unforgettable part of the retreat was equine therapy — connecting with and riding horses through the autumn forest helped participants feel harmony and inner peace. Heartfelt thanks to Nataliya and Yaroslav Zahrotskyi for this wonderful gift to our team.

Such retreats are not only a time for rest but also a space for encouragement, inspiration, and renewed strength for those shaping the future of children who became orphans through no fault of their own.

Special thanks to our professional psychologists, Svitlana Lomovtseva and Iryna Khornytska, for their patience and care for our foster parents. Thanks to your dedication, parents discover new emotional resources to continue their important mission.
