Restoring the Inner Resources of Foster Parents

The fifth training and recovery session for 12 foster parents, who have taken children into their families for socialization and preparation for independent adult life, took place from February 28 to March 1, 2025, in the city of Ternopil.

This time, trainers Svitlana Lomovtseva and Iryna explored the topic of attachment, its forms, and manifestations together with the parents. The theme provided an impetus for a deeper understanding of oneself, building connections with others, and taking meaningful actions in life. The participants expanded their perspective on rebuilding relationships with children, understanding their needs, and improving interactions with others. Art therapy techniques used during the training helped them gain awareness of their current lives and the possibilities for planning their future.

The parents communicated extensively, striving to find shared solutions to certain challenges they face daily. They had the opportunity to express their emotions and experiences, take a break, and relax.

In addition to the training, the charity foundation "Future for Orphans," thanks to its donors, created conditions for the parents to restore their inner resources and rest.

Thanks to master Olha Shchedrinia from the "Divotvorky" studio in Ternopil, the parents immersed themselves in the art of glass painting with acrylics for the first time. Everyone created unique artworks, which they will share with their children and keep as mementos.

We are grateful for this opportunity to the Global Fund for Children (GFC), USA, and the funds provided by the Yevhen Hlyva Foundation, which allowed the parents to enjoy meals and rest in comfortable conditions during the two-day meeting.

Implementing such meetings for foster parents at the state level will enhance the development of family-based child-rearing in communities and promote a positive atmosphere in parent-child relationships.

Join the implementation of the Orphans Future foundation's programs today to ensure a bright and successful future for children.
