A retreat for 12 foster parents from Ternopil region took place at the Ternopil Hotel on January 31 and February 1, 2025 thanks to the financial support from the Global Fund for Children (GFC), initiated by coordinator, Andriy Nazarenko. This is the fourth such event and it is filled with support, training and development of the foster parent community of Ternopil region.
We share the main moments of such a meeting:
- Foster parents enjoy a peaceful environment, away from their daily responsibilities, to recharge and focus on self-care;
- Interactive classes from psychologists Svitlana Lomovtseva and Iryna provide tools to support their foster children;
- Parents shared experiences and problems in a safe and supportive space, building a strong sense of community.
- Experienced foster parents provided individual advice and encouragement to those with less experience, helping participants feel more confident in their roles;
- recreationalactivities, grouop meals and informal conversations allowed parents to relax.
