Over two days, 7 to 9 February, twelve teenagers from the Berezhany and Ternopil Orphanage worked on developing effective communication skills and constructive conflict resolution. Through practical exercises, role-playing games (quests) and discussions, they gained important practical experience and improved skills that will help them in life including listening, expressing opinions, understanding others and looking for solutions without aggression.
This training, organized and conducted by a trainer Olya Arkusha, is another step towards a confident future for our youth!
One of the main goals of these two day events is to enable a smooth transition to independence and social integration into an open society for orphans. While at the charity house, teenagers gain experience in independently drawing up a menu, budget, making purchases of products for real money and preparing meals for themselves and other participants. Thus, the orphans begin to take responsibility for their actions as well as to analyze them.
Between the training modules, our teenagers explored their creativity at a glass painting workshop, which was held for them by the talented teacher Olya Shchedrina from the studio "Dyvotvorchiky". Boys and girls learned to work with transparent surfaces, experimented with colours and created unique works of art. Each painting was not just a creative experience, but also an opportunity to develop confidence in their own abilities!
We thank the caring people who help us organize practical Life Skills sessions for our youth and donated 4200 UAH for this event. We have planned to hold master classes on social integration for teenagers every other week, until June and invite you to donate and support these workshops so that this process is not interrupted.
