Over two days, January 24-27, twelve teenagers from state-run institutional care facilities learned more about stress, including
- what is stress and how does it affect us?
- stress can be useful, mobilizing, and harmful, exhausting us.
- signs of stress recognition are physical (rapid heartbeat, headache), emotional (anxiety, irritability), behavioral (breakdowns, avoiding tasks)
The participants shared their experiences of what causes them stress: school, exams, relationships with friends or relatives, and social networks.
Psychologist, Olena Koval offered boys and girls techniques for managing emotions and stress, such as breathing exercises and physical movements.
A feature of the two-day visits to the Orphans Future Foundation's house is a smooth transition to independence and social integration into society. Here, teenagers gain practical experience in independently creating a menu, budgeting, shopping for food, and preparing meals for themselves.
We thank the caring people who help us financially to organize practical Life Skills program for our youth, and we were able to collect 4,200 UAH for this event in January, because our tomorrow depends on what and who they are today. We have planned to hold such on-site workshops on social integration of teenagers every other week, until June and need your generous support.
We sincerely thank the restaurants "Try Mykoly" and "The Best Kids" for delicious lunches for our twelve participants of the Life Skills program.
We Thanks to Volodymyr Yavorsky for the care and support of the participants 24/7
We Thanks to the benefactor Ken Suridge, teenagers receive pocket money every week and learn financial literacy from school years.
