Orphans experiencing independent living

From 22 to 24 November, 11 teenagers from state institutions spent time in the house belonging to "Future of Orphans" charitable foundation. Over the weekend, the children learned about the recognition and prevention of violence and bullying, as well as its impact on the personality and future of each person. We thank Oli Khilko and Teodor Arkusha for their understandable presentation of relevant material.

64% of respondents had experienced violence and bullying in their environment.

55% of those interviewed had observed bullying and understood who was the victim and who was the aggressor.

The teenagers learned how to react and who to turn to in the event of violent acts and bullying towards themselves or those around them. Theodore taught children the basics of self-defence to counter violence in difficult circumstances.

We would like to thank the local restaurants "Three Mykolas" and "The Best Kids" for their partnership in the implementation of this important programme of social integration for graduates of institutional care institutions.

Participants of the meeting designed their own menu for the weekend, bought the necessary groceries from the local supermarket, prepared meals, and cleaned up after themselves.

We thank Volodymyr Yavorskyi for teaching the children how to prepare meals.

Such events preparing children for independent living are organized with the cooperation of state, non-state organizations and local businesses in the Ternopil region, and with the financial support of benefactors including Jonathan Pylypiv, Ken Surridge, Nazara M. and Yevhen Hlyva Foundation.
