Soft skills: effective communication and time management were analyzed and learned by 10 participants (13-17 years old) of our annual program "On the threshold of independent life", this weekend, May 24-26, at the Orphans Future charitable foundation house.
Thanks to coaches Andrii Khrushch and Rostyslav Rudensky, boys and girls understood the importance of developing soft skills, because according to observations, 87% of people in the world succeed. Work was done in teams, pairs and individually.
The main thing that the children remembered during the two days of classes is active listening, where and how to use it; what styles of behavior and decision-making methods to use in conflict situations. Psychologist Andrii Khrushch shared his personal experience during the discussion.
Coach Rostyslav set the goal of teaching teenagers to organize, plan, and allocate time using specific techniques: how to visualize and write down daily tasks; paid attention to those that we can and cannot influence; formed the ability to determine cases according to the scale of urgency-importance. After all, these things will contribute to a more orderly and independent planning of the day, especially when our graduates will be left alone with the challenges of real life outside the institutional care facility.
In addition, Rostislav revealed the features of the 2024 admissions campaign for 11th grade graduates. We found out what the entrant's personal account is and about personal responsibility for the admission process.
We would like to thank Naomi Shep for the financial assistance provided in the implementation of the socialization program for children of care institutions, which give them hope for a better future.
At their own request, the children helped in Our Greenhouse, bought groceries at the supermarket and prepared breakfast and dinner. The three teams independently decided what they would eat on weekends, drew up menus and cost estimates. Everyone coped with the tasks.
Most of all, children like to be in the home-like conditions created in the house of the Orphans’ Future foundation.
We sincerely thank the following Ternopil establishments, which are permanent partners of the Socialization Program of our wards: "Autoport", "Three Mykola", "Dobra pizza" for providing delicious lunches.
Thank you for volunteering Volodymyr Yavorskyi, Andriy Nazarenko, who spend weekends with high school students, communicating and involving them in interesting activities.
