Spring Vacation in Lviv

Five graduates from Berezhany Boarding School spent five days on vacation in Lviv from 25 to 29 March 2024. The teenage orphans experience the fun of a family holiday experience, practising being independent. They had a range of experiences such using their smart phones to find locations like the famous restaurant xx, planning and preparing meals, solving cultural and historical quests, meeting friends, and going to the cinema.

The teenagers visited organisations that help young and disabled people develop the social skills needed for independent adult life. We are grateful for the hospitality of "Spilnota - Ridni" (Mr. Taras) and "Maysternya Mriii" (Halyna) for interesting tours and informative stories.

The boys had a good time being independent and facing new challenges like buying tickets for ticketless travel on the tram, finding locations in an unfamiliar city, and locating their carriages and seats on the inter-city train. The boys returned to Ternopil with a positive impression of their vacation in Lviv.

This vacation was made possible with the financial support of Ken Surridge, Lyubov Perozhak, Kari Seed Guild (Jonathan), Tim and Carlene Lois, and Sue and Roger Richardson.

Zoryana Vitushynska, Ken Surridge and Andriy Nazarenko accompanied the teenagers on their holiday, supporting, advising and guiding them.
