We support our care leavers 2023

Summer vacation is over. For some, it was a time of rest, and for 9 graduates of care institutions of the Ternopil region, it was a moment of determination with the future educational institution after leaving the school, which replaced their home for many years.

We have three boys this year. Those who entered the universities of our country, and the rest will receive special education in technical institutions of the Ternopil region.

We realized this summer that the most important thing is that the graduates believed in themselves thanks to the support of caring people who made efforts to convince the children that they can choose any institution of their choice and will definitely get there. Children in care institutions have an inherent feeling of low self-esteem, that they will not be able to choose and often adjust themselves to school. This year showed a completely different picture, and those who wanted to join at will were able to do so.

Now it's time to move from the "boarding schools" to your new educational institutions. The team of philanthropists of the "Future of Orphans" foundation provided each graduate with a suitcase with all the necessary things to start an independent adult life in society. And just as every family sends their child to study with all the necessary things, so the foundation team collected the very basic and necessary things for every graduate of 2023. And these are: kitchen utensils, travel bag and a set: bedding, pillow, blanket and towels. Everything you need to get started.

In addition to handing out essential items, we gathered children together to discuss their plans, dreams, share their own experience of student life, and also held a quest to learn the value of goods, where everyone tried to estimate the price of the goods received and receive bonuses. At the end of the meeting, young people tasted pizza. Thank you for the treat for donations from Oleksandr Dykun.

We express our gratitude to Ken Suridejn from England and Hanna Mutsa, who during the last 6 months helped prepare teenagers for the right choice of an educational institution, inspired children and provided support during the admission campaign, provided payment for additional courses.

Directorates of Berezhny Lyceum and Ternopil Orphanage for their trust, openness, cooperation in the direction of preparing high school students for life after leaving school.

The cost of the items received by each graduate is UAH 7,250. A total of UAH 66,000 was involved.

On behalf of our foundation team and alumni and the directorate of care institutions, we sincerely thank: WALO group, Nazar Hamulyak, Myron Standret, Volodymyr (Jonathan) and Mara Pylypiv from the USA, Tetiana Hachok for the assistance provided.
