Summer vacation at “DACHA”, the country house for children means: sleeping out of order, be outdoor as much as wanted, eat out of order.
For three days from August 17 to 20, 12 pupils of the Berezhany boarding lyceum aged 13-16 spent an interesting and meaningful leisure at the “Dacha”. “Dacha” is a house located in the countryside with its own yard and farm.
The camp program was divided into two parts: recreation and socialization into society.
During the holiday, children had the opportunity to watch the cartoon "Nohhvil" in the cinema "Miromax" and play bowling for 2 hours in the mall "Podolyany", walk and get acquainted with the "highlights" of the city of Ternopil; rode on the Ternopil pond on a boat and played the interesting board games "Carcassonne" for the development of joint work.
Important moments of socialization for the children were: self-compilation of food menus for three days, to purchase products in the supermarket and get acquainted with the pricing policy of products and goods. Everyone really enjoyed cooking their own breakfasts and dinners every day at the Dacha. Also, children used public transport and paid for travel in trolleybuses and minibuses in the city of Ternopil.
At the dacha, the children joined the care of the harvest in "Our Greenhouse" of the Orphan’s Future Foundation, picked up weeds and gathered vegetables for breakfasts and dinners. In addition, the children took care of the territory of the Dacha, where they lived for 3 days, mowed the grass, swept the territory and watered the plants.
On the last evening of the camp, the volunteers of the foundation organized a picnic at Dacha with fried chicken on the fire and baked potatoes. The children liked the evening walks, because it is a rarity for children living in boarding schools.
The most important thing for the children was a lot of communication and attention.
