Every year before Easter, volunteers and benefactors of Orphans’ Future organize a charitable program called “Easter Joy for Orphans”. About one hundred children and youth who deprived of parental care of Ternopil region participate in different Easter events.
The main goal of the program is to give joy and support to orphans deprived of parental care, familiarize them with the traditions and history of the Easter holidays, and most importantly have fun.
2015 Easter Happiness for Orphans was arranged by volunteers from Orphans’ Future, including: Iryna Vakalyuk, Ivan Abramets, Olha Kravets, Nadiya Klepach, Vasyl Hrynkiv and Mykhaylo Koroliov. These volunteers visited three locations in Nove Selo, Berezhany and Ternopil. Sixty children participated in Easter egg painting workshops. Some children were using wax and “pysachok” (a tool) and others painted wooden eggs with gouache and brush. The children also learned about the history and origin of species eggs, and also learned about modern traditions and celebration of Easter. After the joint work, students were treated to sweets and gifts. We thank the administration of orphanages for the warm welcome of volunteers and cooperation.
In addition to orphanage visits, the Easter Happiness program affected orphanage graduates who are in precarious financial situations. This year, Orphans’ Future was able to provide fifteen graduates with food ($15 USD) at the Ternopil Resource Center for Orphans.
Most of the children who live in orphanage have now an opportunity to spent holidays with their host families. This happens because of the 2014 program “Bring Happiness to an Orphan During the Holidays”.
The Charity Program Easter Happiness For Orphans was made possible by financial support from kind people like Oleg Chopyk, Olexander Vystavnyy, the "Global Fund for Children”, Olya Dmytryk from London, Nadiya and Ruslan Nebesni, and a Ternopil poultry farm.
To implement the Program, Orphans’ Future received, purchased and distributed food and stationery totaling $337 USD.
