Reunion of Ukrainian orphans and their American host families after 20 years


Aim: reunite Ukrainian orphans and US families who participated in the US Host Program back in 1992

History: 126 orphans came over on 1992, and 56 of them stayed in America and were adopted into American homes. Orphans from Ternopil region had an opportunity to spend winter with US host families in Wisconsin and Illinois States. After 20 years the opportunity to see each other arrived. Andriy Nazarenko - one of those who temporary stayed with Tim and Carlene Lois's in Wisconsin had to return to Ukraine orphanage. Pastor Shep and Pastor Gruen supported the idea to organize the Reunion 2012 for Ukrainians and its host families. Many of them are a looking forward to hear about their friends after 20 years.

Date: Saturday, July 28, 2012

Time: In the USA: from 10am to 3pm in Antioch, Illinois, USA. In Ukraine: Saturday from 6pm till 11pm

Place: In Ukraine the meeting will be organized by Orphans Future Foundation. The event will take place in Ternopil city, the Ternopil Conference Hall for 15-20 young Ukrainians who participated in the US Host Program back in 1992. In USA at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1501 Deep Lake Rd., Antioch, IL (contact Pastor Gruen and Andy Gruen for details)
