Orphans’ Future Receives National Recognition in Kyiv
On March 29th, 2017 Ukrainian non-profit organizations and leaders received national awards for charity work performed the previous year. The 2016Charitable Ukraine Ceremony took place at the Kyiv City Council Concert Hall, and was organized by the Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists.
Among 744 applications from all over Ukraine, the Orphans’ Future Foundation took an honorable third place in the "Philanthropy in Education and Science" category. The award was presented by Liliya Grinevich, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The award was received for two projects: the "On the Threshold of Adult Life" workshop, and the ongoing work occurring at the Ternopil Resource Center for Orphans.
The event was attended by prominent politicians, public figures, writers, and ministers, including the First Lady of Ukraine Maryna Poroshenko.
This competition was held for the fifth consecutive year to recognize effective social-oriented philanthropy in Ukraine, and to increase trust and accountability in the national charitable sector.The Charitable Ukraine competition is open and transparent, has a strong level of public trust, and is administered by a responsible group of people who are committed to the effectiveness and integrity of charitable programs in Ukraine.
