On January 21st, 2017 the Orphans’ Future team organized the charity event, Christmas’ gift for orphans for twenty five children from Nove Selo and Berezhany orphanage boarding schools. These children did not have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas holidays in a family atmosphere but stayed in orphanages.
The program started with the children watching Christmas animation, “SING” in 3D in Cinemaciti in Ternopil, which they really enjoyed with popcorn and soft drink. The children excitedly talked about the movie for some time afterwards. Thanks to Oksana Rosoliak for generously sponsoring this part of the event.
The next part of the program was to visit the largest Christmas display at the church of the Holy Apostle Peter. This spectacular display is famous throughout Ukraine and was reported on national television. The children had an opportunity to learn about events at the birth of Jesus and pray.
Next was enjoyable walk through the snowy city of Ternopil, and admired the magnificent Christmas tree in the city square where they took some photos. The walk continued to the frozen Ternopil lake. The boys and girls were excited to walk and slide on the slippery surface where fishermen showed them how to catch fish though halls they cut in the ice.
At the end of the walk as the conditions got colder, the children enjoyed delicious hot lunch at the restaurant, “KHUTIR” (the translation “FARM”) whose staff we sincerely thank for their continue support.
The program finished with each child receiving a traditional Christmas gift representing love, support and care for the future.
