The summer holidays are now over for children and students. Our children had a time of relaxation and refreshing and are now ready to begin the school year.
I would like to share a few memorable moments of summer 2014.
Nearly thirty children from orphanages of the Ternopil Province spent summer with host families in the United States. The kids are back now healthy, happy, with gifts, photographs and memories of the long journey, and know that they have got caring and loving people in their lives. This program happened thanks to our partner friends from Kyiv for providing this opportunity for our Ternopil orphans.
From August 14 till 25, 2014, one of the graduates, Eugene, (from Kiev ) had the opportunity to attend international education seminar on youth employment in the Czech Republic
From July 10 to September 5, 2014, about 20 students from all over Ukraine including Ternopil, went to Canada to study English, culture and on holidays. The trip was organized by OWL (Open World Learning) NGO. We thank them for this opportunity for our students.
From 8 to August 15, 2014 Volunteers of Orphans Future organized and conducted a three-day camps for more than 60 orphans and children deprived of parental care from the Ternopil Province of Berezhany, Yabluniv, and Husiatyn districts.
The motto of the camp was: maximum action and minimum laziness - together go to the top.
The volunteers taught the children through playing. Children were involved in sports, creative competitions, master classes, making hand-made dolls for soldiers in the East Ukraine, drawing pictures and using natural materials for creative purposes. Children also had the opportunity to talk to volunteers openly about their lives in orphanages, their problems and their friends.
The camp was made possible through financial support from partner organization Rotary Club of Rouse Hill (Australia) and support from friends from the Netherlands – WALO group.
After the camp was over, the participants received all purchased Sporting Goods: balls, skipping ropes, hoops, tennis rackets and balls, badminton; hygiene items, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo, soap; stationary supplies: crayons, paints, brushes, paper, etc.
The Orphans’ Future organization would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to our Volunteers: Irina Vakalyuk, Christina Storozhuk, Catherine Zablotska, Natalia Protsyk, Ivan Abramets, Vasilyi Hrynkiv and to the administrations of the sanatoriums, (where the camps were conducted for the orphans), for their understanding and friendly welcome, free stays and meals of our volunteers there.
