Christmas for Youth in need

Young people who are orphans that have graduated from state run institutions often experience difficulties without a stable income and families to cover basic needs, especially during the holidays.

At Christmas, we were able thanks to benefactors and the Yevhen Hlyva Foundation to provide support and care to 28 such young people, to make them feel important and remembered, reducing feelings of isolation.

A simple monetary gift of 1000 UAH to each young graduate helped them afford small joys, such as a festive table or a gift to a loved one.

We drew attention to the challenges of orphaned youth, inspiring the community to provide support to these young people.

Before the Christmas holidays, we met with young some graduates in the city of Ternopil. We talked about the events of 2024 while making Christmas cards.

The biggest challenges for these young people are paying for rent and utilities, and buying food and hygiene products for themselves and their families.

We are looking for people willing to mentor these young people. After living institutionalised lives, they need an adult to guide and encourage them as they learn to live independent lives.
