On March 27–29, a socialization weekend took place at the Orphans Future foundation house for 12 teenagers from Berezhany and Ternopil. These three days became a space for hands-on practice and reflection on making adult decisions.

Twelve teenagers from orphanages in the Ternopil region, participants of the program “On the Threshold of Independent Life,” have completed a series of trainings focused on developing project-based thinking.

This weekend, 12 teenagers participating in our “On the Threshold of Independent Living” Program continued strengthening their project-based thinking skills.

Trainer Oleksandr Kykta didn’t just teach over these two days — he gave them real steps into adulthood.

From November 28 to 30, at the youth social integration house of the "Orphans' Future" foundation, 13 teenagers from institutional care facilities learned how to develop project management thinking and create social projects together with trainer Oleksandr Kyikta. With great enthusiasm, the boys and girls presented their work, namely: "Creating a children's volleyball team 'Berezhany,'" "Organizing and holding a charity event 'Art Heals' to raise support for children in hospitals," and "Creating and operating a game club for youth." This skill and ability will give each of them the impetus to set goals and move toward their dreams. The kids enjoyed the teamwork and the 3-minute project presentations the most.

True health is not just the absence of illness, but a state of overall well-being, energy, and self-confidence. This is exactly what our kids learned at the recent "My Health and Hygiene" practical training session held from November 14th to 16th in Ternopil.

On October 26, 2025, 30 children and youth from the Ternopil Regional Charity Foundation "Future for Orphans" embarked on an incredible cultural and historical excursion, "The Secrets of the Castles of Lviv Region." We dedicated this autumn day to a journey back in time, exploring the mighty fortresses and romantic palaces of the Lviv region.

From October 10–12, 2025, a three-day off-site training took place in Ternopil for 13 youth from institutional care facilities in the Ternopil region.

Independent planning of time and setting goals remains a big challenge for children in childcare institutions.

Eleven teenagers spent three days at an on-site financial literacy training, where they learned to distinguish between "want" and "need", plan a budget and manage their own finances. The training was planned and organized by Orphans Future Foundation.

This was the theme of social integration and development of skills of teenagers during April 4-6, 2025 in the city of Ternopil. Thanks to the caring benefactors of the Orphans Future Foundation, boys and girls receive powerful support and investment in a better life.

12 teenagers aged 14-16 from Berezhany Lyceum and Ternopil Orphanage participated in social integration and educational trainings. The main goal of the trainings was to help boys and girls develop public speaking skills, teamwork and self-confidence.

From March 7 to 9, twelve teenagers gained knowledge and practical advice on personal hygiene. The topic was very interesting for the teens. They were attentive and focused, listened carefully, and participated in discussions with trainer Bohdan Kokh, sharing their thoughts and asking questions. The participants actively engaged in interactive games, which will further contribute to fostering a responsible attitude toward their own health.

Over two days, 7 to 9 February, twelve teenagers from the Berezhany and Ternopil Orphanage worked on developing effective communication skills and constructive conflict resolution. Through practical exercises, role-playing games (quests) and discussions, they gained important practical experience and improved skills that will help them in life including listening, expressing opinions, understanding others and looking for solutions without aggression.

From December 5 to 7, 2024, The “Unite for Change” forum brought together 47 people with experience growing up in residential care or foster family upbringing in the city of Kyiv. The event was held at the initiative of graduates of residential institutions that are part of “DIyMO - Office of Children and Youth” under the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

From 22 to 24 November, 11 teenagers from state institutions spent time in the house belonging to "Future of Orphans" charitable foundation. Over the weekend, the children learned about the recognition and prevention of violence and bullying, as well as its impact on the personality and future of each person. From November 8 to 10, twelve reens from Berezhany and Ternopil state run institutions increased their level of knowledge and skills during another practical training "On the threshold of independence", organized for them by team from Orphans Future Foundation.

From October 25 to 29, 12 teenagers from Ternopil and Berezhany spent time at the charity house away from their institutions.

The training took place from October 11 to 13 at the base of the Orphans Future Foundation in the city of Ternopil.

Soft skills: effective communication and time management were analyzed and learned by 10 participants (13-17 years old) of our annual program "On the threshold of independent life", this weekend, May 24-26, at the Orphans Future charitable foundation house.

Very often, graduates of care institutions find it difficult to understand the need to earn and save money, as well as how to manage their own budget to have enough to meet their needs and wishes.

During the months of March - April, five students and five graduates of state care institutions passed the career orientation Test at @JammSchool

On the self-esteem of the individual and its role for teenagers who are on the threshold of independent life, Olena Koval, a psychologist, through interactive exercises and games, students immersed themselves deeper into their own world of introspection and awareness of the impact of self-esteem on their future.

Five graduates from Berezhany Boarding School spent five days on vacation in Lviv from 25 to 29 March 2024. The teenage orphans experience the fun of a family holiday experience, practising being independent. They had a range of experiences such using their smart phones to find locations like the famous restaurant xx, planning and preparing meals, solving cultural and historical quests, meeting friends, and going to the cinema.

In an interactive form, coach Bohdan Korkh taught boys and girls how to protect themselves in case of random acquaintances, the dangers that may lurk, and how to act if such an acquaintance occurs. After all, teenagers encounter such dating often and quickly make connections that often have negative consequences, especially online dating and especially teenagers who grow up without parental care.

Life Skills Trainings have begun for orphanage teenagers of the Ternopil region, most of whom will be released into independent life this summer. How and what they learn today will have an impact on their tomorrow.

During the weekend, November 10-12, our teenagers once again mastered the necessary skills and knowledge from the basics of independent life. This time, Maksym Grigoriev plunged them into the world of Leadership, Team Building and Management. His important and practical advice to future graduates plays an important role in the independent life of young people.

The first training workshop "Financial Literacy" was held in Ternopil for 11 high school students from care institutions in Berezhany, Nove Selo and Ternopil.

The universities of Lviv, Kyiv and Ternopil have been replenished with our graduates.

Summer vacation is over. For some, it was a time of rest, and for 9 graduates of care institutions of the Ternopil region, it was a moment of determination with the future educational institution after leaving the school, which replaced their home for many years.

Despite the daily talk about the war and sirens, the children had the opportunity to relax, to talk about the important things in life, and to enjoy their summer vacation.

Finding information about different jobs in the city of Ternopil. Skills needed and monthly salary for each job, were required during the quest. The Scientific Picnic of Ternopil, Work in our greenhouse - all these were completed by 11 participants of our annual program "On the threshold of independent life" this weekend.

Socialization of orphanage children is one of the priorities of the team of the Orphans’ Future Foundation. Eleven teens of Berezhny Lyceum and Ternopil Orphanage spent a weekend of independence. This time, the children acquired skills in writing a resume, its content, including participation in public life, as well as job search tools. The students practiced telling about themselves in 2 minutes during the interview in the "elevator". In addition to an important lesson under the guidance of Iryna Yaremchuk, the children had the opportunity to create patriotic keychains in the Dyvotvorchyky Studio. Eleven high school students, aged 14-16, from the Berezhany Lyceum and the Ternopil Orphanage spent the week long spring vacation experiencing ordinary life away from an institution.

A male paratrooper landed at the foundation's base last weekend. The twelve teenagers aged 14-17, from Berezhny and Ternopil care institutions, took part in the Life Skills Program "On the threshold of independent life". This Program has been implemented by our foundation annually since 2012, and its purpose is to give children of care institutions a sense of independence to real life, as well as to increase the level of necessary skills.

"Intimately about finances" by Oleksandr Sokhatskyi - Financial advisor, children learned to rationally manage their finances in the game "Life capital". During the game, children plunged into the realities of life in finance and professions. They began to understand about loans, deposits, partnership, investment, 10% as a "safety cushion" from earnings and savings. Even in a difficult moment, you can find a way out if you earn, distribute and spend. And this should be learned from childhood.

Pupils of the Berezhany boarding school returned to their school, and the memories remained in these photos. The three-day visit was full of interesting events prepared by volunteers and trainers of the "Future of Orphans" charitable foundation.

The fifteen orphanage graduates ages 16-17 years old from six boarding orphanage schools of Ternopil region received needed household items during the meeting which was organized on August 29th, 2020 at the Orphans' Future Foundation Resource Center which is located in Ternopil city area.

We continue to help teens feel the "rhythms" of independence outside of residential care. ‘I realized that I should allocate time so that everything was in order. I shouldn’t sign up everywhere, and then I would not have time’, ‘I should properly allocate my time for important and unimportant things’. Such a feedback we received on November 2, after the third workshop on time management for 12 teenagers who are brought up in boarding schools of Ternopil region (Nove Selo, Berezhany, Ternopil orphan home³), within the framework of the annual Program ‘Around the turn of independent living’.

‘I have learned about product prices’, ‘I have learned how to spend money in a proper way’, ‘I’ve realized that I do not need to spend all the money at once, but gradually’. These are the feedbacks from students of grades 8-11 of Ternopil orphan homes who participated in the second workshop of the series of workshops conducted within the framework of the program ‘Around the turn of independent living’ on financial literacy that took place this autumn. Teens have learned to make and plan a personal budget, with some income and a rational use of it in the present and in the future. Thanks to speakers, Iryna Vakaliuk, Liza Obleshchak, Iryna Bodnar, Tamara Morozovych, this hands-on workshop helped teens find out how to manage their money effectively during the lifetime.

With the beginning of the school year, our annual program ‘Around the turn of independent living’ for 16 high school students of 8-11 grades Berezhany and Novosilka boarding schools and Ternopil orphanage began. The first workshop ‘The Independent Me’ was held at the premises of the Information and Resource Center for Orphans on October 19, 2019 and the speakers were: Iryna Vakaliuk, a psychologist and program director of the Foundation, together with TNPU students Tamara Morozovych, Liza Obleshchak and Iryna Bodnar majoring in Social Work , as well as the representatives of the Foundation: Volodymyr Yavorskyi and Andriy Nazarenko who shared their life experiences.
